Hagerstown, MD— Maryland Delegate Neil Parrott will appear at a rally to “Stop Socialism and Choose Freedom.” This is just one of many other such rallies across the nation to encourage fellow Americans to resist the failed, destructive, and dangerous ideology of socialism.
History shows that socialism has failed everywhere it has been implemented, because it rejects a fundamental ingredient of what makes capitalism successful – private property. The disaster in Venezuela is a current example where socialism turned one of the richest counties in South America into an economic disaster and vast human misery. History also shows that capitalism has brought more people out of poverty than any other economic system.
The goal is to remind Americans that there is no personal and political freedom without economic freedom. Everywhere socialism has been tried has resulted in the loss of personal and political freedom. If we as a people care about people, freedom, and quality of life, then the only system we can choose is capitalism.
